Eyelid laxity

What is Eyelid Laxity?

Eyelid laxity is characterized by loose, sagging skin on the upper or lower eyelids. On the upper eyelid, it can manifest as eyelid drooping, and over the lower eyelids, eyebags and wrinkling can occur. This can create a tired, aged appearance, as the eyes are a common focal point on the face.
Astria Medical Aesthetics: Why Eye Laxity

What are The Causes of Loose Eyelids?

What are the types of eyebags or eyelid wrinkles?

Eye Bags

These are puffy bulges under the eyes, often caused by fluid retention, fat accumulation, or laxity of supporting tissues.

Periorbital Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles that form under the eyes due to loss of collagen and elastin.

Dark Eye Circles

Darkening of the skin under the eyes, often caused by factors like pigmentation, blood vessel visibility, or thin skin.

Crow's Feet

Dynamic wrinkles at the outer aspect of the eyes due to smiling or squinting. If untreated, over time, this can become a permanent (static) wrinkle.

Droopy Eyelids

This is due to the descent of the upper eyelid skin, often causing double eyelids to be less prominent and more hooded. In severe cases, this can obscure vision.
